I’m sitting in the library and a woman is lamenting on her stolen wallet. She suspects she left it by one of the computer terminals and some boys had taken it. The woman has a little cart full with books, a wart over her lip, and is circling the ten terminals. The man next to me is trying to learn english on his computer screen. He has a bright yellow shirt and a bad sitting posture.

Outside it has begun to pour, a heavy pour. The cloud swept through Churchill square, woke all the sleepers, and went its way. The sky is now a misty blue. It reminds me of a marble I once found on a subway track.

The woman has made her fifth circle. A man looks up from his computer and apologizes that he had not stopped those boys. Another looks up and gives the woman three tickets for the bus. The woman stops circling. She comments on the rain, loudly, then goes her way.

The man to my right suggests that I put my wallet safely in my bag. I thank him.
