Elevated half-way between the floor and a tight spot
he charged back into his own brain
and demanded compensation for the childhood
he never had
and the holy-smoke of a raincheck he was given.
Then he knee’d his pillow in the groin until it fought back
with a double-barrled chest thumping feather explosion
so fast and furious it hardly felt like anything at all
until he realized
it was just a joke.
Hahaha, laughed the cement wall just before he seeped through it like flour in a sifter
while all the other cars just kept speeding right by
and all the gravity turned into a sticky sweat
dripping down the walls.
